Gabriel Morey, MD

Physician Biography

Dr. Morey grew up in Mesa, AZ and Denver, CO, and graduated from Brigham Young University in Utah with his bachelors in chemistry and a minor in music. He also completed a Master of Public Health degree at BYU and worked as an epidemiologist prior to medical school. Dr. Morey is a triple board certified (AP/CP/DP) dermatopathologist in Boise, ID, where he owns his own practice, Spek Diagnostics. He received his medical degree from The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, followed by residency at the Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, with integrated dermatopathology rotations at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, and the University of Texas Health Sciences Center. He completed his dermatopathology fellowship at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, USF Health Morsani Center for Advanced Healthcare, and James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital-Tampa. He also speaks Russian. He specializes in dermatopathology, oral pathology, and general surgical pathology and is experienced in public health, epidemiology, health technology/informatics, telemedicine, and biostatistics. He has been married for 16 years and enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring the Treasure Valley, mountain biking, trail running, and swimming with his wife and their four children.
