Physician Biography
Nicholas J. Kuntz, MD, is a board-certified urologist who joined Idaho Urologic Institute in 2021, after
serving as a urologist for 11 years in the US Army. He is a native to the Treasure Valley, and a graduate of
Eagle High School. He received an undergraduate degree from Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, followed by
a Medical Degree from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed a General Surgery
Internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, followed by a residency in urologic surgery, and a research
fellowship in endourology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Before returning to Idaho, Dr.
Kuntz spent 5 years in practice at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.
Dr. Kuntz is well-versed in a full spectrum of urologic conditions and specializes in da VinciĀ® robotic
surgery and other minimally invasive surgical techniques. He has special interests in the treatment of
prostate and kidney malignancies, as well as BPH (enlarged prostate), and complex kidney stones.
Dr. Kuntz treats men, women, and children, and sees patients in our Boise and Meridian clinics. He has
medical privileges at Saint Alphonsus Boise and Nampa; Treasure Valley Hospital, and the Boise VA Medical
Center.
Dr. Kuntz is a member of the Idaho Medical Association and the Ada County Medical Society.
