Physician Biography

Dr. Christian Gussner joined Idaho Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in 1995. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in 1991, completed an internship at UCLA & Wadsworth VA in 1992, and a residency in PM&R at Stanford University Hospitals in 1995. Board certifications include American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Academy of Pain Medicine. He chose to specialize in PMR because he enjoys treating patients with musculoskeletal and neurologic disorders with a focus on providing the best possible functional outcome.

His passions in PMR include acute and chronic spine care, fluoroscopic guided spinal injections including cervical/thoracic/lumbar epidural steroid injections, selective nerve blocs, facet steroid injections, facet medial branch nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation which can provide spinal pain relief lasting for several months to over a year. He enjoys taking care of injured workers for both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions and perform independent medical examinations. He also enjoys electromyography, nerve conduction studies, and chronic pain management. His hobbies include spending time with his family, snow skiing, tennis, running, mountain biking, and backpacking.
