ENT doctors (also known as Otolaryngologists) are medical specialists who are trained in both surgery and medicine. ENT doctors diagnose and manage diseases of the sinus, larynx, oral cavity, and upper pharynx, as well as the structures of the neck and face. The medical training process for ENT doctors includes up to 15 years of college and post-graduate training, in combination with a possible fellowship with more extensive training in an ENT subspecialty area. These subspecialty areas are pediatric otolaryngology (children), otology/neurotology (ears, balance, and tinnitus), allergy, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, head and neck, laryngology (throat), and rhinology (nose).
