Position: Physician Assistant

The Physician Assistant (PA) will provide health care services to patients under the direction of a physician. PA's are academically and clinically trained to perform many of the routine tasks that physicians usually do and are accountable for their own actions and accountable to their supervising physicians.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures.
- Administers and orders diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and blood work, and interprets test results.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.
- Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.
- Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress.
- Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.
- Provides general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Assists physician with emergency treatments and more complex procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated competency dealing with all age groups including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
Education and Experience
- Completion of a four-year physician assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training, or;
- Completion of atwo-year accredited physician assistant program (which requires two years of undergraduate study) plus two years of clinical training following completion of PA program.
- State accreditation based on certifying exam.
- Continued employment requires being current on required continuing medical education and any recertification requirements per State, Federal, or Professional regulation.

General Summary: Under the direction of the administrator, the clinic manager is responsible for providing leadership and management of the day-to-day clinic operations of two family practice clinics in the Treasure Valley. Supervises and/or performs the functions related to front desk, clinical support, HR, business transactions, IT, billing, compliance, safety and customer service. As a Clinic Manager, you will lead a team in culture and growth by empowering staff to reach their full potential.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees daily medical office operations. Identifies and resolves operational problems to ensure compliance, efficiency, safety and patient satisfaction.
- Accountable for the recruiting, hiring, orientation, development, and evaluation of staff.
- Supervises assigned personnel. Reconciles employee time sheets and maintains leave records. Prepares payroll for employees.
- Provides coverage for medical assistants and front desk receptionists as needed.
- Assists administrator in creating, implementing and adhering to clinic policies and procedures.

We are looking for a candidate with working knowledge of physician practice protocols and procedures, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement of the patient experience, safety, and quality of care. REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university program.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a medical private practice. Highly preferred experience in oculoplastic/ophthalmology/plastic surgery private practice with staff administration and financial acumen skills.
3. Prior management and methodologies experience in a human resources capacity, and knowledgeable with Idaho laws.
4. Prior experience with setting up and executing surgical practice protocols and procedures to ensure the success and profitability of the practice.
5. Knowledgeable in financial reporting and analysis to evaluate the practice’s key performance indicators on an ongoing basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Management of office and medical administration and operation according to new and established policies.
- Responsible for creating and implementing both, new and established, practice policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Coordinates and directs the administrative and clinical staff. Ensures a high quality of patient care and patient satisfaction.
- Serves as liaison with outside business partners (e.g.: Business Advisors, Attorneys, Accountants, etc.).
- Manage and integrate various functions within the organization, including employee relations, training, customer service, lead management, processes implementation.
- Develops short-term and long-term plans/objectives in conjunction with Dr. Vargason and business advisors, regarding financials, staff management, practice operations, and marketing programs,for specific areas such as budgeting, profit analysis, financial goals, marketing plans, competitive pricing, staff growth and development plans, business development among others.
- Manages departmental budgets, identifies trends, and provides recommendations for improvement. Generates data analysis reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
- Evaluates financial, marketing, and staff performance metrics inclusive of recommending staff merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Analyzes and recommends changes in the organizational systems, policies, and procedures,and ensures implementation of strategic goals.
- Review KPI (key performance indicators) and departmental performance in relation to established goals and objectives for optimum quality of service and practice success.
- Prepares and conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings. Oversees staff members to help them reach their full potential in their practice roles and resolve any team issues that might come up.
- Works well with different personalities, resolves staff issues, handles patient complaints, and keeps a positive and professional practice environment.
- Develops and implements education, training policies, and procedures. Trains and manages front desk staff inclusive of patient care coordinator, first impressions coordinator and others, to ensure the best patient service and successful implementation of lead management process.
- Experience with financial reconciliations to make sure all financial activity is properly recorded, and that any discrepancies are immediately addressed.
- Experience with insurance verification process to train and oversee the practice staff. Knowledgeable with CPT codes to track and bill medical, surgical, and diagnostic services.
- Assists in developing and maintaining Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Utilization and Loss Prevention Programs.
- Manages and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations and internal policies and procedures. Maintain the practice’s standard of quality patient care.
- Subsequent to acquisition of assets, oversee the preparation of a detailed spreadsheet reconciling assets purchased, supplies purchased, and all other items purchased.
- Troubleshoot projects and interdepartmental problems on a daily basis.
- Attend meetings with various external agencies such as supply vendors, marketing vendors, and consultants.
- Stays current with trends and practices in health care administration. Follows HIPAA regulations.
- Participates in professional activities and maintains professional affiliation.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
