Position: Medical Assistant
Location: Durham Family Medicine
As a Managing Medical Assistant at our private medical office you will be responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support. You will support doctors and patients in areas including, but not limited to: patient care management, scheduling, rooming, communication. You will support the office through inventory management, payment collection, office management, patient call backs, etc. All responsibilities will need to be completed with accuracy, in a timely manner and with the very highest quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist with management of office operations
- Maintain inventory of medical office supplies
- Collect patient payments
- Quickly develop proficiency with EHR system
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Arrange outgoing consults and referrals
- Perform laboratory services including phlebotomy
- Enter accurate and appropriate medical information in EHR
- Assist during medical examinations and procedures
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Callbacks for patient reminders
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills
- Proven work experience as a medical assistant for minimum 3 years
- Extensive knowledge of medical office management systems including inventory and other procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and clinic management software
- Proficient with completing prior authorizations for imaging (REQUIRED)
- Proficient at using autoclave and sterilizing equipment/tools (REQUIRED)
- Proficient at assisting providers with using sterilized equipment (REQUIRED)
- MA Degree PLUS minimum of 3 years experience as a Medical Assistant (REQUIRED)
Certification/Registration REQUIRED

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience
