Joseph Cook, MD

Physician Biography

Dr. Cook joined the Digestive Health Clinic in 2020 after retiring from the U.S. Air Force. He is originally from Virginia, where he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and his medical school training and Internal Medicine residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. His gastroenterology training was at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He served in various clinical and leadership positions throughout his Air Force career and had multiple deployments in support of both combat missions and humanitarian efforts. Dr. Cook is board-certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Dr. Cook is married and the father of two young children. Among his many interests are photography, culinary experiences, travel, and any outdoor activity with his family.
