Physician Biography

Dr. Tyson S. Sessions, DO, CAQSM joined Idaho Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in 2024. He graduated from A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine (Cincinnati, OH) in 2016, completed an internship at St. Vincent Hospital (Indianapolis, IN) in 2019, residency in PM&R at Medical College of Wisconsin (Milwaukee, WI) in 2023, and a fellowship in non-operative sports medicine at University of Arizona (Phoenix, AZ) in 2024. Board certifications include American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Sessions chose to specialize in PMR because of the excellent training it provides in the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal injuries. His passion within the field of PMR is helping motivated patients overcome acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries to get back to the activities they love. Dr. Sessions is a fellowship- trained sports medicine physician who specializes in non-operative management of orthopedic injuries in pediatric and adult patients including neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, foot, and back injuries. He has special training in the use of ultrasound for diagnostic and interventional purposes including minimally invasive procedures and targeted injections. He also has training in electrodiagnostic evaluation of injuries with electromyography and nerve conduction studies, and fluoroscopy guided interventional spine procedures. Additionally, Dr. Sessions has specialized training in the evaluation and management of acute concussions. Dr. Sessions believes patients should be heard and should have an active role in their healthcare with a patient-centered treatment approach, discussing the latest evidence and recommendations to formulate an individualized treatment plan that fits each patient’s functional goals.

Dr. Sessions is the proud father of 3 wonderful children with an incredible wife that works overtime to keep him and the kids in line. His hobbies include anything he can do with his family. Currently, we are enjoying being back in Idaho (grew up in Mountain Home) after a long hiatus for medical training.
